I made the smart bed because I wanted to precisely play the audio sounds through the phone speaker. The phone-based version uses the motion sensor of the phone at a very high tracking resolution and works either by placing your phone on your bed or using this special phone charger I invented called the SleepSpace Smart Bed. It measures the sleep phases in real time and generates tailor-made audio tones that have been proven to improve the depth and duration of deep sleep. It also includes a bunch of other relevant functionality, such as nature sounds to unwind, meditations, AI sleep coaching, and integration with the major wearables with customized feedback around things like your circadian rhythm. The headband makes sleep more effective so that tiredness during the day is reduced and energy throughout the day is increased. It then uses information about your sleep stages to adjust a sound machine that blocks out noise pollution and play the delta sound to entrain those brainwaves. Philips SmartSleep suite of solutions includes a mix of existing and new solutions, introduced for the first time at CES, including: SmartSleep Snoring Relief Band, SmartSleep Better Sleep Program, SmartSleep Analyzer, SmartSleep Deep Sleep Headband, and SmartSleep Sleep and Wake-Up Light (Somneo Connected). I built tools that can measure sleep in real-time, on any smart phone or wearables, such as the Apple Watch. I took things in a few different directions that extends how to use sounds to enhance sleep to integrations with smart light and the science of behavior change.
